How to Accessorise With Jewellery for Any Occasion

How to Accessorise With Jewellery for Any Occasion

When it comes to accessorising for any occasion, jewellery is the perfect way to add a touch of sparkle and style. Whether you’re attending a special event or simply looking to add a little something extra to your outfit, jewellery can help you express your personal style and make a statement. Here are a few tips on how to accessorise for any occasion with jewellery.

Choose a Statement Piece

When accessorising for any occasion, it’s important to start by selecting a focal piece of jewellery. This could be a statement necklace, a pair of earrings, a bracelet or a ring. This piece should be the main focus of your look and will help set the tone for the rest of your accessories. We recommend our new arrival, the Odette Pear Earrings, they come in three sizes and look classy.

Mix and Match

Don’t be afraid to mix and match different pieces of jewellery to create a unique look. We talk about how to mix metals here. Try pairing a bold necklace with a subtle pair of earrings or a delicate bracelet with a statement ring. Mixing and matching different pieces of jewellery will help you create a look that’s totally unique and express your individual style. We recommend pairing our Francesca Necklace with our Naomi Hoops, both best sellers for years so you know they wont go out of style plus these are both 18k Stainless Steel so you'll know they'll last!

Play With Layering

Layering different necklaces, bracelets, and rings is a great way to add interest to your look. Try layering different lengths or styles of necklaces to create an eye-catching look in our mixed metals guide we talk about mixing varying lengths! Most of our necklaces come in 40cm (16") and 45cm (18") lengths so you can mix them together or match with other necklaces, we also have a lot of our necklace with extenders so you can decide which you prefer to extend and shorten. We also recommend mix and match different rings to add depth to your vibe, we have a range of 18k Stainless Steel rings that are perfect to mix and match!

Think About Colour

When it comes to accessorising for any occasion, colour can make all the difference. Jewellery can be used to add a pop of colour to your look and brighten up even the most basic outfit. Opt for a bold colour to make a statement especially in summer! The perfect statement to add colour are our beaded necklaces, they are hand made with natural stones in our Melbourne Studio and are perfect for a big statement.

How to Accessorise for Different Occasions

Everyday and work

Dainty pieces, Essential hoops, Everyday huggies, maybe a few crystal studs if you have your thirds or cartilage piercing. Something that makes your look a bit easier is having an ear stack that you wear all the time just changing out your first lobe piercing. Almost like a set and forget, same goes with rings if you have a stack you don't have to take off you can just leave them. Necklaces and bracelets are something that are a bit easy to change around, but for everyday something like the Mykonos bracelet or even a permanent bracelet is a good choice to layer. A simple necklace also works really well, something like the Solene Necklace is super simple and easy to layer.

Date night

On a date night i think the best thing to do is grab a pair of eye catching earrings and some bracelets, youve got your hair and makeup done and as pair of earrings will really put the look together. Something i love is either our slim Soleil Hoops, they come in a bunch of sizes or our new Juliette Round Stud Earrings, especially for date night, low restaurant lights really reflect off the crystals and make for a subtle classy vibe. A bracelet i love is something dainty, or a chunky cuff like the mason cuff is super cute for date night.

Weddings and formal events

Depending if you've chosen to have hair up or down will really depend on which piece of jewellery id recommend. Hair up 100% the Palais Earrings they are such a wedding look classic, everyone loves the black with gold, especially if your invited to a black tie wedding its the perfect earrings. If your hairs down i would go for something like a our Juliette Round Studs with a dainty necklace.

Weekends and brunch

Id go for everyday with a bit more fun, so your regular essential stack, but maybe changing up your firsts to some smaller hoops the carmen is a really good relaxed option. For weekends i think its fun to wear a lot if jewellery usually the outfits are a bit more casual so i'd really experiment with layering, i love mixing a dainty necklace for your 40cm length and then something chunkier for the 45cm length. The watch bracelet is another super cute causal bracelet to wear.

Holidays and the beach

My favourite time to play around with my outfits and accessories is on a holiday, if you feel like your doing too much who will see you. I love a colourful beaded necklace and some colourful chunky resin bracelets (coming soon) Dont forget to make everything stainless steel though so you can go in the water with everything and not worrying about them tarnishing!

Remember, jewellery is the perfect way to accessorise for any occasion. Whether you’re attending a formal event or just looking to spice up your everyday look, jewellery can help you express your personal style and make a statement. So don’t be afraid to experiment and have fun with your jewellery choices!

FAQ

Should my earrings and necklace match?

They don't have to! Mixing styles or even metals looks more considered than a matching set. Just keep one piece as the focal point so the look doesn't feel busy.

How much jewellery is too much?

If everything is a statement, nothing stands out. Choose one bold piece and keep the rest dainty. On weekends and holidays, though, go for it and have fun layering.

What jewellery can I wear every day without taking off?

Stainless steel pieces are perfect for everyday wear because you don't need to take them off to wash your hands or shower. A set-and-forget ear stack, a ring stack, or a permanent bracelet keeps your look done every day.

How do I dress up an outfit?

Jewellery is the quickest way. Swap everyday studs for statement earrings, add a chunky chain or a pendant, and stack a cuff or a few bracelets. Keep one piece as the star, and a jeans-and-tee outfit becomes date-night ready in minutes.

What is the 3-3-3 rule for?

It's a capsule wardrobe trick: pick 3 tops, 3 bottoms and 3 pairs of shoes that all work together, and you can make up to 27 outfits. Jewellery is the secret weapon here. Swapping your earrings, necklace or stack makes the same few pieces feel like a completely new look, which makes it perfect for travel too.

What accessories are popular right now?

Heading into spring and summer, mixed metals and two-tone pieces are everywhere, along with sculptural chokers and bold statement pieces. Colour is back too, from natural stones to bright beaded necklaces, and personalised stacks you build over time are big. Our two-tone Watch Bracelet and handmade beaded necklaces tick a few of these boxes at once.
