No two bracelets are the same. Every permanent bracelet (also called permanent jewelry) is custom-fitted to your wrist and welded on, so it's yours to keep. We also do permanent anklets and rings.

What is a permanent bracelet and how does it work?
A permanent bracelet, also called permanent jewellery or permanent jewelry, is a delicate chain custom-fitted to your wrist and welded closed with a small jump ring. There's no clasp, so there's nothing to take off. At our South Melbourne studio we measure and fit every permanent bracelet to your wrist on the day.
How much does a permanent bracelet cost in Melbourne?
Permanent bracelets at Aglaea start from $85, depending on the chain and metal. A $40 deposit secures your booking and is deducted from your final total on the day.
Are permanent bracelets waterproof? Can I shower and swim in one?
Yes. Our gold-filled permanent bracelets are waterproof and tarnish-free, so you can shower, swim and exercise in them. Sterling silver can oxidise over time depending on your body chemistry. Avoid hot springs and prolonged chlorine exposure.
How long do permanent bracelets last?
Our permanent bracelets are made to last 5+ years with the correct care. We include a free 90-day repair warranty if your bracelet breaks at the jump ring.
Do permanent bracelets stretch?
Chains can loosen a little over time, especially with lots of exercise. If yours needs resizing, we can adjust it in studio, and a service fee may apply.
What metals do you offer for permanent bracelets: gold or silver?
We offer 14k gold-filled and sterling silver permanent bracelets, in a range of chain styles and charms.
Can I get matching permanent bracelets with a friend or partner?
Yes, matching permanent bracelets are very popular with friends, couples and family. Each appointment covers up to two bracelets, so book an additional appointment if there are more of you.
Do you do permanent anklets and rings?
Yes, we also offer permanent anklets and rings. Book online the same way as a bracelet and choose your piece at your appointment.
How old do you have to be to get a permanent bracelet?
Anyone can get one. If you're under 16, a parent or guardian needs to come to your appointment.
How many permanent bracelets can I get in one appointment?
Each appointment covers up to two bracelets. For more than two, book an additional appointment so each piece gets the time it deserves.
How do I remove a permanent bracelet?
Cut it at the jump ring with scissors or cutting pliers. Cutting at the jump ring means we can re-weld it later.
Where can I get a permanent bracelet in Melbourne?
Aglaea Jewellery is a permanent jewellery studio at 87 Gladstone St, South Melbourne, open Friday and Saturday 11am to 4pm. Appointments are by booking only, with no walk-ins. Book online above.

Terms & Conditions
• Please keep in mind all permanent bracelet sessions will be strictly by appointment only, no walk ins.
• A $40 deposit will be taken at the time of your Permanent Bracelet booking. This amount will then be deducted from your final purchase on the day. Failure to cancel and/or reschedule your appointment at least 72 hours prior will result in a forfeit of the deposit.
• We offer a 90 day repair warranty that is free of charge for all Permanent Bracelets from the time it is welded onto your wrist. This only applies if you are still in possession of the chain, and if broken at the jump ring. In the case the chain is lost and cannot be retrieved, we are unable to replace the chain for you.
• A $40 repair booking will cover your repair costs. Keep in mind this appointment is only valid if you are still in possession of the chain. Failure to cancel and/or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours prior will result in a forfeit of the deposit.
• If you have purchased a permanent bracelet and would like to have it removed and add a clasp to it a $30 fee will be charged at the time of your booking.
• All bracelets are deemed custom and once cut, there are no refunds or exchanges. All permanent bracelet sales are final. Make sure on the day you happy with the length of the bracelet, we are unable to add or subtract links later without incurring a service fee.
• You need to be over 16 to get a permanent bracelet at your Aglaea Jewellery Studio unless accompanied by an adult.
• Some individuals may have sweat that causes sterling silver jewellery to oxidise more quickly, resulting in discolouration. Aglaea Jewellery Studio is not liable for any discolouration that occurs due to an individual's unique body chemistry, and we are unable to offer a refund for any jewellery that has become discoloured in this manner.
• Aglaea Jewellery Studio is not liable for any damage that occurs to permanent bracelets in places such as hot springs or due to excessive chlorine usage. As such, we will not offer a full refund on items that have been discoloured/damaged in those places.
• If you exercise frequently while wearing your permanent bracelet, it may stretch over time. While we strive to make our bracelets as durable as possible, stretching can occur with excessive wear. If your bracelet needs to be resized frequently due to stretching or other reasons, there will be a charge for this service.
• Please note that the jump ring on permanent bracelets may darken or appear black over time due to the welding process. During arc welding, the metal is exposed to high heat, which can cause oxidation and discolouration. This discolouration is a natural occurrence and does not affect the strength or durability of the jump ring. Regular cleaning and maintenance can help keep the jump ring looking its best.
